800 Number

We have had the same 800 number since we started in 1987. It seems that MCI has a customer, 20th Century Insurance in Irvine, CA that advertised our 800 number as theirs and for several years we were swamped with calls for them...

We called MCI countless times about it but it seems that both of us were their customers. So I suppose since they were making money on each call it didn't move them to do a thing about it. They would just state that FCC ruling didn't provide for refunds on 800 calls in error. Yea maybe but good business ethics says make it right...

So after years of paying for them to get fat off this we decided enough was enough and switched to AT&T. MCI still billed us for sometime until we got an AT&T representative on a 3 way call and they listened to MCI lie then spoke up and set things straight. You'd think that was enough...

Well a month later, you guessed it, they billed us again. So put them on hold, created a 3 way call, not knowing AT&T was listening and began to tell me how they owned the number...

Hmm we opened the number with AT&T originally then went to MCI ( big mistake) and now back to AT&T but MCI owns the number... Took about 2 minutes of AT&T speaking up and a nervous MCI representative started back stroking. Nearly fell out of my chair laughing.

So we had to block AZ and CA but will be looking into opening it back up it, if AT&T will cover us for any mistake calls from, you guessed 20th Century Insurance.
