Environmental Statement

We feel strongly that we all as individuals need to be responsible for our environment. That through each one of us practicing what we preach that then change can happen. Since we began doing business the following holds true to how we do business.

All box's used to ship orders are recycled, only exception is Priority Mail, which the Post Office insists we use their box's. The styrofoam 'peanuts or popcorn' are all recycled from local business's before they go to the land fill! Our herbs are packed in zip lock bags as we feel at least this way they are useful. Our stick incense is packaged in cellophane which is a vegetable product and does decompose.

In the office. We recycle and refill our laser toner cartridges, including our color laser which prints all our labels. The only labels printed outside is the header cards. All office paper is recycled as is the paper we use to print your receipts.

Once we put our web site up we stopped printing a paper catalog for several reasons. First is since we develop our own products our catalog was outdated within a few weeks of being printed. Our last catalog was over 80 pages, never contained images of products, it was just too expensive and that would mean higher prices.. So once the website was up and elder put a challenge to us, saying that not that the website was up and accessible world wide, did we really need to use all that paper to mail catalogs, and she was right. If you really want a printed catalog, feel free to print from the web site. We do plan on formatting the pages to print out a catalog but it will be a while in coming. We're too busy making products and developing new items right now.

We have this one great and beautiful planet we live on. We've heard folks saying that we'll open up settlements in space and that will take care of the pollution etc. Personally that sort of talk scares me. First we Must see this as a Living Planet, that we ALL depend on it for life and survival, image using the inside of your house for a septic system, crazy eh? Well this planet is our home and in not much over 100 years, we've seen our water become toxic, the oceans polluted on a daily basis, hazardous materials used when we have no real safe way to deal or dispose of them, and the list goes on. It becomes and has been our responsibility to do something about it rather than become deaf and dumb alluding ourselves into believing it'll go way or worse yet. 'Well not in my time' syndrome.

We need to reassess the way we look at this planet and each other. This is a living Planet, would you feed arsenic to your children or yourself? But this we do. We need to think and do for the future generations. In Lakota thought everything is done with concern for 7 generations to come. The Arabs plant date pits. Did you know that an Adult planting a date pit, will not likely ever eat of the fruit of that labor? But the future generations will. In the name of business we allow so much to transpire, but we were taught that doing good business meant looking ahead, that there would be the things we need in order to continue doing business. So please don't hide behind the well that's the way it was done. When you find you were following a path and that leads over a cliff, you change direction. So we too need to change. Before we leave the future something that will haunt us for all time.

Do yourself a favor and get a copy of a movie called Mindwalk, starring Liv Ullman. It's not an adventure, action type movie. It's a discussion between 3 people, I believe it will open anyone who sees it into seeing why we are in the crisis our environment is in, why the way politicians do business for the most part is devastating to us individually and as a whole and will explain scientifically the relationship of everything that exists. As the Lakota say Mitakuye Oyasin - We Are All Related. This is not a concept, it's a reality, that many have forgotten. That everything is dependant and interdependent on all that exists on this planet we call home. That what befalls one impacts us all, and when it has to become apparent or blatantly obvious (the damage) it can be too late for some and sooner than later the accumulative will, well hope we do wake up - soon.

With great Love and deep respect to you all.
