From the family of herbs ammiaceae. Several species are native to North America. A perennial it grows in fields and damp places, developing greenish-white flowers form May to August.

The plant has a peculiar but not unpleasant odor, sweet in taste and afterwards pungent. Dried it looses much of this.

A hot tea will break up a cold, General tonic 1-3 cups per day. It should always be remembered in epidemics, said to resist poisons by defending and comforting the heart, blood, and the spirit.

Conditions of suppressed liver and spleen causing digestive malfunctions yield to this herb. Hence the name 'Archangel'.

Externally tea dropped on skin ulcers cleanses and heals them.

Tea to relieve nervous exhaustion, hysteria, as a seditive, for poor digestion, appetiser, stomach and gas bloating. Indigestion, heart-burn, intestinal gas and cramps, and for colds as a diaphoretic, and expectorant.

Flowering plant makes great honey, and the leaves and flowers are also used in the food industry from sweets to salad decoration. Dired leaves and bark also used in wine and vodka making!
